About the LVDA

LVDA Mission Statement:

The Lehigh Valley Dressage Association (LVDA) is dedicated to promoting a high standard of the sport of dressage, through quality education provided to the membership and the interested equine community in the form of clinics, seminars and dressage shows, along with the promotion of outstanding horsemanship.

The LVDA was established in the 1970's as a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization and joined the United States Dressage Federation (USDF) as a Group Member Organization (GMO) and the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF).  

Strategy - Vision
  • To promote the sport of dressage - sustainability - growth
  • Education of the riders to benefit the health and well being of the horse, and enhance the enjoyment and success of horse and rider
  • Social aspect - sharing ideas, supporting each other, etc
  • To represent USDF Region 1 at the national organization level
  • Outreach to other disciplines - share knowledge and education on the benefits of dressage
  • Contribute to select local animal organizations as funding allows
Long-Term Goals
  • Increased membership
  • Fund the majority of the LVDA Adult and Youth Teams cost at national team competitions 
  • Sponsor / Host Clinics and Seminars with world renowned clinicians to come to the area- with participation of area's professionals and their students
  • Increase active participation of the membership to shape and deliver against our goals
  • More efficient and effective fund raising/sponsorship drives -consolidation of efforts with better outcome for all initiatives (recognized show, adult competition, youth team, etc)
  • Increased knowledge and better leverage of the benefits of being a GMO

2018 Goals
  • Sponsorship of the L Program
  • Increased membership and participation of area professionals
  • Increase youth membership and participation in our newly established youth program
  • Promotion of the benefits of dressage to other disciplines/barns - hunter/jumper, eventing, etc.
  • Automation and streamlining of schooling show processes and year-end award requirements - enhanced experience for competitors and volunteers
  • Partnership with other organizations in the area - ESDCTA, NPASS, etc.
