LVDA Year-End Awards Opportunities
Info here is excerpted from the LVDA Guidebook (exception is the Thoroughbred Award, which is new).

USEF/USDF Recognized Show Awards

Champion, Reserve Champion and ribbons to 6th place will be awarded to individuals who have competed at Recognized competitions within the calendar year. Anyone who would like to be eligible for these awards should submit a minimum of three scores (3) from two (2) different judges (copies of tests required) and proof of 8 volunteer hours at LVDA events to the year-end award coordinator by November 15th of the current year. Awards will be based on the highest average of three (3) rides within the same level, minimum average score of 60%. In order to be eligible for this award, one of the submitted tests must be from the highest test of the level. The scores need not be received at LVDA hosted events. Awards will be provided for Training Level, First Level, Second Level, Third Level, Fourth Level, Prix St. Georges, I-1, I-2, Grand Prix and Musical Freestyle of any level. The awards are based on a horse and rider combination. A horse may compete with more than one (1) rider, or the rider may compete with more than one horse, but the average will be calculated on each horse and rider combination. To be eligible, the rider must be a current member of LVDA (dues paid). Scores received prior to membership will not be counted. Owner, if different from the rider need not be a member.

LVDA Senior High Score Awards

High score ribbons will be presented to the senior rider who has received the highest single score during the LVDA show season at an LVDA hosted event.
Two awards will be given; an award will be given to a
senior rider in Introductory Level and also to senior riders in Training Level and above. To be eligible, a  copy of the test must be submitted, proof of 8 volunteer hours at LVDA events and the rider must be a 
current member of LVDA (dues paid). Scores received prior to membership will not be counted.
Owner, if different from the rider need not be a member. Neither Fix-A-Test scores nor Adult Team scores may be 
used for these awards.

Volunteer of the Year Award (VOYA)

The volunteer of the year award will be presented to an individual who has supported LVDA by volunteering time throughout the current LVDA calendar year. To be eligible for the VOYA, an individual should be nominated by a current LVDA member and approved by the current LVDA officers. This nomination should be made by November 18th of the current year. The recipient of the VOYA must be a current member of LVDA (dues paid). 






New! Thoroughbred Year-End Award

High score ribbons will be presented to the thoroughbred who has received the highest single score during the LVDA show season at an LVDA hosted event. Two awards will be given; an award will be given to a thoroughbred in Introductory/Training Level and also to the thoroughbred in First Level and above. To apply, submit a) a copy of the test; b) proof of 8 volunteer hours at LVDA events and c) proof of thoroughbred breeding through Jockey Club papers, tattoo, or other documentation. The horse must be 100% thoroughbred(American or British, raced or unraced). The rider must be a current member of LVDA (dues paid). Scores received prior to membership will not be counted. Owner, if different from the rider need not be a member.
Neither Fix-A-Test scores nor Adult Team scores may be used for these awards.

LVDA Junior High Score Awards

(Rider must be less than 21 years of age as of January 1st of the current show year.)
High score ribbons will be presented to the junior rider who has received the highest single score during the LVDA show season at an LVDA hosted event. Two awards will be given; an award will be given to a junior rider in Introductory Level and also to junior riders in Training Level and above. 

To be eligible, a copy of the test must be submitted, proof of 8 volunteer hours at LVDA events and the rider must be a current member of  LVDA (dues paid). Scores received prior to membership will not be counted. Owner, if different from the rider need not be a member. Neither Fix-A-Test scores nor Adult Team scores may be used for these awards.

LVDA Vintage Rider Award

The vintage rider award will be presented to a rider who is 55 years or older and has received three (3) scores that average a minimum of 60% within the current LVDA calendar year. Scores shall be awarded only at LVDA events. The three ( 3) scores must be received from LVDA hosted events. This award is based on scores received by the rider. The horse need not be the same for each score. To be eligible, the rider should submit her/his scores, proof of 8 volunteer hours at LVDA events and birth date to the year- end award coordinator by November 18th of the current year. The rider must be a current member of LVDA (dues paid). Scores received prior to membership will not be counted.

LVDA Recognition Award

An award will be given to a non-LVDA individual or a group who has made major contributions to the LVDA for the current calendar year. Current members may nominate these individuals/group and board 
members will select the winners who will receive a plaque. 






Schooling Show Awards

Schooling Show Awards

For schooling shows year end awards, scores must be earned at two or  
more different venues.
Awards will be provided for:
  • Introductory Level tests A and B (combined),
  • Introductory Level Test C, 
  • Training Level, 
  • First Level, 
  • Second Level, 
  • Third Level, 
  • Fourth Level, 
  • Prix St. Georges, I-1, I-2 and Grand Prix.

LVDA Rider Achievement Awards (Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals

In order to be eligible, the rider must be a current member of LVDA (dues paid). Volunteer time must be from the current calendar year. All scores will be cumulative from 2007 and scores cannot span a period 
of more than 10 years. Applicants must submit six (6) scores (copies of tests required) of 60% or better from LVDA hosted events. All scores must be submitted to the LVDA year-end award coordinator by 
November 18th of the current year. The rider can achieve this award on one or more horses; however, a rider may only earn one Medal at each level.
  • Bronze Medal: six (6) scores at Training Level
  • Silver Medal: three (3) scores at First Level and three (3) scores at Second Level
  • Gold Medal: three (3) scores at Third Level and three (3) scores at Fourth Level
The scores must be from four (4) or more different judges from either LVDA sanctioned schooling shows or LVDA USEF/USDF Recognized show.
*Please note: 8 hours of volunteer work is required for the first award that you are applying for and an additional 4 volunteer hours are required for each additional award that you are applying for. Volunteer hours must be obtained at LVDA events and within the calendar year.
