LVDA Spring Event

"Developing the Dressage Horse from Training Level to Grand Prix"
Performed by Laurie Jolliffe
April 4, 2004 - Mile View Farm

Despite the cold and rain, LVDA’s spring event went off beautifully, at Mile View Farm, Doylestown, PA. Laurie Jolliffe began the presentation with her 3 year old Oldenburg gelding, Landan, demonstrating the training techniques she uses while starting a young or green Horse. Landan was utilized in a lunging presentation and then backed, illustrating the training level horse. Next, Laurie’s 5 year old Dutch Gelding, Remington (Remmy), was used to illustrate a more advance horse, schooling higher level movements. Third and last, under Laurie’s direction, Nancy Sullivan and Dutch Indy (Albi) performed various grand prix movements. Throughout the presentation, Laurie thoughtfully, answered questions, explained movements and was able to show the audience (with the use of the 3 different horses) the progression of the dressage horse from training through grand prix. Sincere thanks to all that brought food and beverages, helped prepare for and cleanup after the event. Special thanks to Laurie Jolliffe & Nancy Sullivan for the demonstration, and Hanne Wenger for the use of her beautiful facility. This event could not have taken place with out the help of the following people.
