LVDA YEAR END AWARD REQUIREMENTS

LVDA Volunteer Of The Year Award (VOYA)
The Volunteer of the Year Award, (VOYA), will be presented to an individual who has supported LVDA by volunteering time throughout the current LVDA calendar year. To be eligible for the VOYA, an individual should be nominated by a current LVDA member, and approved by the current LVDA officers. This nomination should be made by November 15th of current year. The recipient of the VOYA must be a current member of LVDA (dues paid). Current LVDA Officers shall not be eligible. This award cannot be awarded to an individual more than one (1) time.

LVDA Vintage Rider Award
The Vintage Rider Award will be presented to a rider who is 55 years or older, and has received three (3) scores that average a minimum of 60% within the current LVDA calendar year. The three (3) scores must be received from LVDA hosted events. This award is based on scores received by the rider. The horse need not be the same for each score. To be eligible, the rider should submit her/his scores and birth date to the year-end award coordinator by November 15th of the current year. The rider must be a current member of LVDA (dues paid). Scores received prior to membership will not be counted. Owner, if different from Rider, need not be a member. This award cannot be awarded to an individual more than one (1) time.

LVDA Recognized Show Awards
Champion and Reserve Champion Awards will be awarded to individuals who have competed at Recognized Competitions. Anyone who would like to be eligible for this award should submit a minimum of three (3) scores, from three (3) different judges, (copies of tests) to the Year-end award coordinator by November 15th of the current year. Awards will be based on the highest average of three (3) rides within the same level, minimum average score of 60%. The scores need not be received at LVDA hosted events. Awards will be provided for Training Level, First Level, Second Level, Third Level, Fourth Level, FEI Level, and Musical Freestyles of any level. The Awards are based on a horse/rider combination. A horse may compete with more than one (1) rider, or the rider may compete with more than one horse, but the average will be calculated on each horse/rider combination. To be eligible, the rider must be a current member of LVDA (dues paid). Scores received prior to membership will not be counted. Owner, if different from Rider, need not be a member. This award cannot be awarded to the same horse and rider combination for more than two (2) consecutive years in any one (1) level.

LVDA Year-End High Score Rules
Champion and Reserve Champion Awards will be awarded to individuals who have received three (3) scores with a minimum average score of 62%, at LVDA hosted events, in Introductory Level Test 1, 2, & Training Level Test 1, 2, 3, 4. Champion and Reserve Champion Awards will be awarded to individuals who have received three (3) scores with a minimum average score of 60%, at LVDA hosted events, for First Level Test 1, 2, 3, 4, and Second Level & Up. The Year-end award coordinator will keep a record of all scores received and will calculate the results at the end of the show season. Awards are based on the highest average of three (3) rides, under three (3) different judges, of the same test in Introductory Level through First Level. Second Level and above need not be the same test. The Award is based on horse/rider combination. A horse may compete with more than one (1) rider, or the rider may compete with more than one (1) horse, but the average will be calculated on each horse/rider combination. To be eligible, the rider must be a current member of LVDA (dues paid). Scores received prior to membership will not be counted. Owner, if different from Rider, need not be a member. This award cannot be awarded to the same horse and rider combination for more than two (2) consecutive years in any one (1) test and/or level as noted above.

LVDA Most Improved Rider Award (MIRA)
The MIRA will be presented to the rider who has shown the most improvement through out the LVDA show season. Anyone who would like to be eligible for this award should submit a minimum of 3 scores (copies of the tests) to the Year-end award coordinator by November 15th of the current year. Awards are based on the successive improvement of the same test, under three different judges at LVDA hosted events. The rider with the largest point spread from beginning of season to the end of season will receive the award. The Award is based on horse/rider combination. A horse may compete with more than one (1) rider, or the rider may compete with more than one (1) horse, but the point spread will be calculated on each horse/rider combination. To be eligible rider must be a current member of LVDA (dues paid). Scores received prior to membership will not be counted. Owner, if different from Rider, need not be a member. This award cannot be awarded to the same horse and rider combination for more than two (2) consecutive years.

LVDA One Time High Score (Senior)
An award will presented to a senior rider (21+ years of age as of January 1st of the current show year) that has received the highest single score during the LVDA show season, at an LVDA hosted event. The Year-end awards coordinator will keep a record of all scores received and will determine the one time high score at the end of the show season. To be eligible, rider must be a current member of LVDA (dues paid). Scores received prior to membership will not be counted. Owner, if different from Rider, need not be a member. This award cannot be awarded to the same horse and rider combination for more than two (2) consecutive years.

LVDA One Time High Score (Junior)
An award will presented to a junior rider (less than 21 years of age as of January 1st of the current show year) that has received the highest single score during the LVDA show season, at an LVDA hosted event. The Year-end awards coordinator will keep a record of all scores received and will determine the one time high score at the end of the show season. To be eligible, rider must be a current member of LVDA (dues paid). Scores received prior to membership will not be counted. Owner, if different from Rider, need not be a member. This award cannot be awarded to the same horse and rider combination for more than two (2) consecutive years.

LVDA SPECIAL CLASSES OFFERED
LVDA Championship Classes
Awards will be presented to the individuals who received the highest score in the LVDA Championship classes that are offered at the respective LVDA show. The Championship classes to be offered will be Training Level Test 4, First Level Test 4, and Second Level and above (test of choice). To be eligible to compete in the LVDA Championship classes, the horse/rider combination must have received a minimum score of 63% in Training Level test 4, 62% in First Level Test 4, and/or 61% in Second Level and above, at one (1) previous LVDA event, of the current year. The Year-end award coordinator will keep a record of all scores received and will calculate the results at the end of the show season. Awards are based on the highest score received in the respective Championship class. The Award is based on horse/rider combination. A horse may compete with more than one (1) rider, or the rider may compete with more than one (1) horse, but the average will be calculated on each horse/rider combination. The Owner and/or rider need not be an LVDA member. This award cannot be awarded to the same horse and rider combination for more than two (2) consecutive years in any one (1) test and/or level as noted above.

LVDA Fix-A-Test
LVDA Fix-a-Test classes will only be offered at the LVDA Fix-a-Test Clinic, and will run as follows. A 30 minute time limit will be given for all Fix-a-Test rides. The horse and rider will enter the arena to ride the respective dressage test. Once the test is complete, the horse and rider will then begin the schooling session for the remainder of the 30 minutes. Scores received at this event are permitted to count toward Year-End Awards and/or eligibility to ride in the LVDA Championship Classes.

LVDA Equitation Class
LVDA Equitation class will only be offered at a designated LVDA Schooling Show and at the Annual LVDA Recognized Competition, as entries warrant. The Equitation Class will be held according to USEF Dressage Rule: DR132.

LVDA Materiale Class
LVDA Materiale class will only be offered at a designated LVDA Schooling show, as entries warrant. The Materiale Class will be held according to USEF Dressage Rule: DR133.

LVDA GENERAL RULES
1. The LVDA Recognized Show is held in accordance with the current USEF (United States Equestrian Federation) Rules.

2. The LVDA Schooling Shows are generally held in accordance with the current USEF (United States Equestrian Federation) Rules with the following exceptions/interpretations by LVDA:

• Anyone who wants to ride the same horse in the same test multiple times at a schooling show will be permitted to do so. The first score for the first ride will indicate awards. All other rides will be Hors de Concours (H/C).

• Horses may be entered in any level provided that the rider is different when the tests shown are greater than two (2) consecutive levels apart.

• Any person, including the show secretary and host farm owner, are permitted to compete for scores at all schooling shows, provided that they are not involved in scoring or scribing. In addition, someone must be designated to assist competitors during this time.

Dress Code is informal but neat, and is permitted as follows:

• Jackets are not required.

• Breeches or jodhpur pants, boots and a solid colored, collared shirt with sleeves are required. (Shirts may be a polo shirt or riding shirt).

• Hard hats are recommended for all persons mounted, and required for all Juniors while mounted.

• Proper Saddlery and Equipment are to be used. Variations are permitted at the discretion of the judge.

• Score discrepancies must be brought to the attention of the Show Management prior to the Judge leaving the grounds at the close of the show. All discrepancies brought to the attention of the show management, in the required timely fashion, will be adjusted immediately. All scores will stand for awards as they were posted at the close of the show.

3. All horses at LVDA shows /clinics/activities must have a signed release from the activity coordinator/show secretary and the property owner. This is a requirement for all horses on-site regardless if they are participating in the show/clinic/activity.

4. Additionally for schooling shows year end awards, scores must be earned at two or more different venues.
